Global Entrepreneurship Week at UoC

During Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) each year the university hosts range of additional enterprise sessions taking place which are open to our students, graduates, college students, organised school groups and local businesses and this year is no different.  GEW runs from 14th to 17th November 2016.

Workshops will cover a wide range of topics from finance, business planning, cash flow forecasting, sales, marketing including on-line presence and social media.  The usual session on ‘protecting your intellectual copyright’ will run at a later date and details will follow.

GEW is being run in partnership with the Cumbria Chamber of Commerce in Ambleside and Carlisle with additional sessions being developed for Lancaster and this year we are hoping to stream some of the sessions to our international students abroad.  The university’s Student Enterprise Co-ordinator Sylvia Grainger said: “We are very excited to organise these events as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, they are of great benefit to those able to take part, the feedback from participants is always excellent and we are look forward to seeing some of our alumni there”.

Each year the university has been awarded a ‘High Impact Award’ for its events and we hope to continue this trend in 2016!
